5. Metropolitan Area network

The Metropolitan Area Network can be placed between Local Area Network and covers a wide area in terms of range.

MAN covers a geographical area that can be a campus, a city, or a town. The maintenance of Metropolitan Area Networks is done by either a company or a person.

6. Wide Area Network

Wide Area Network spread a larger graphical area than LAN. WAN allows the computer and other devices to connect remotely to one another. The most common example of a vast area network is the internet.

As it has a vast reach, the connection of computers together across the world is possible. The ownership and maintenance of the Wide Area Network are done by multiple administrations.

7. Virtual Private Network

Virtual Private Network or VPN is the extension of private networks across the internet. It allows the user to send and receive data like it is connected to the private network; however, they are not connected to the private network.

It is the Virtual Private Network that creates the connection and lets the user have secure access to the private network.

8. Enterprise Private Network
