How to Change Wallpaper on Your Chromebook

You are at the right place if you want to change the background wallpaper on your Chromebook. You can easily change your Chromebook background and set a specific image as your wallpaper – all it takes is a few clicks. Changing the wallpaper on your Chromebook is an easy and effective way to personalise your device.

You can use any image or photo you have as the wallpaper on your Chromebook, or you can pick from one of the built-in background suggestions collated and collected from artists and photographers. Follow the guide to know how.

How to Change Wallpaper on Your Chromebook

Your Chromebook has a built-in app that can help you to change the background image/wallpaper on your device with a few clicks. Follow the mentioned steps below to do so:

Step 1: Right-click on the empty desktop area. Select the “Set Wallpaper & Style” option to change the background image.

Step 2: This will open the wallpaper app. Here click on the “Wallpaper” section to change the background.

Note:- On the latest version of Chrome OS, you can also enable dark mode on your Chromebook without any flags.

Step 3: Here, you will find a ton of high-quality desktop backgrounds for free. These are categorised – into a specific group, e.g., Cityscapes, Illustrations, Abstract, etc. Here, click a category to browse images grouped in it. When you notice an image you like, click on it to set it as your background.

Step 4: If you want to change the background daily, you can change the image from the same category by clicking on “Change Daily.”

How to Set an Image as Chromebook Wallpaper

If you want to set a particular image as your Chromebook wallpaper instead, you can follow the following steps:

Step 1: Open the wallpaper app. Here click on “My Images.”

Step 2: You will get all the images saved on your Chromebook. Select the image you want to set as a background.

Step 3: Or else, visit the location where you have your images, right-click on it and select “Set as Wallpaper” to set the image as background.

How to Setup a Screen Saver on Chromebook

You can also set up a screen saver on your Chromebook. Screen savers don’t have many purposes beyond looking cool and hiding your screen. When your screen is idle, it shows photos, time, weather and media info.

Here are steps you can follow to set up the screen saver

Step 1: Open the Wallpaper app and click the “Turn On” button in the “Screen Saver” section to enable it.

Step 2: Next, you will get the customization options. You can choose between animations like a slide show, feel the breeze, and Float on by in the “Screen Saver Animation” section.

Step 3: You can also change the image source between “Google Photos” or “Art Gallery.” Each one will give you a few different albums to choose from. If you select “Google Photos,” you can choose from your personal albums. You can also change the “Weather” unit between “Fahrenheit” or “Celsius.”
