How to Fix Realtek HD Audio Manager Missing from Windows 10

Realtek HD audio manager is a high definition audio manager. It finds implementation in controlling the sound system on the Windows 10 Desktop or laptop. Effective Ways to Fix the Missing Realtek HD Audio Manager

Here we will discuss the top 3 ways to recover the missing Realtek HD audio manager available on the taskbar. These steps are easy to execute and are effective. we have also provided some tips to solve a few minor issues to make the missing audio manager available.

1. Enable Realtek HD Audio Manager from the Task Manager of Your Windows

If the icon of the Realtek audio manager is not present at the system tray, there is a possibility that it is disabled. Then you have to enable it.

Step 1: Open task manager by shortcut keys. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc.

Step 2: Select the start-up tab.

Step 3: If the Realtek HD audio manager is disabled, make it enabled by clicking right click and selecting the enable option. Restart the computer.

2. Recover Realtek HD Audio Manager for Windows 10

If the audio driver is broken, incompatible, or wrongly configured, then the audio manager icon may be missing. In such a case, you first have to uninstall the buggy audio driver.

There is also a possibility that you are using an outdated version of the audio manager. In such cases, you can update your HD audio manager.

Step 1: Press Windows key+X to launch the quick access menu. It is located at the left corner of the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Select the device manager option. It lies on the quick access menu.

Step 3: On the device manager menu, click on the Sound, video and game controller option, expand it to found Realtek high definition audio. If this option is not available there, may this audio device is not available in your device.

Step 5: Then delete confirmation popup screen will open. Check the option ‘delete the driver for this software’ option and tap the OK button to proceed. Wait for the process to be completed and restart your computer.

This process will entirely remove the audio device from your device. Now you have to download it freshly and install it.

3. Steps to Re-install the Bug-Free Realtek HD Audio Driver

Step 1: Open Realtek’s website. Download either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of the audio manager. 

Step 2: After download, right-click on the downloaded setup. Then, select the option run as administrator.

Step 3: Complete the installation prompt. Then, restart the computer after the audio manager is installation.

Step 4: The file explorer is launched. Navigate through the location- C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA.

Step 5: Select the option RAVCpl64, then select Send to, and select desktop (create shortcut). It creates a shortcut for the Realtek HD Audio Manager on your desktop.

Step 6: The Realtek HD audio manager will be pinned to your taskbar. It should also appear on the windows system tray and notification area. You can launch the app from the taskbar or system tray with a single click.

4. Recover Realtek HD Audio Manager Icon Back via Windows 10 Control Panel

The Realtek HD audio manager icon can be brought back with the help of the control panel. If the Realtek HD audio manager installed on your computer, then you can see it on the control panel. Let’s see how the process is:

Step 1: Open control panel on windows 10.

Step 2: View is changed. Ranging from small to large icons.

Step 3: Select the option Realtek HD audio manager.

Step 4: Click on the ‘i’ or information button. It lies above the OK button on the right corner of the bottom of the screen.

Step 7: You will find the Realtek HD audio manager icon has appeared on the taskbar.

In some rare cases, the the audio manager is still absent on the control panel, though you have installed it. Then you can follow these steps.

Step 8: Press Windows + R and enter or paste C: \Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA path to run the window.

Resolve the Minor Issues Responsible for the Absence of Realtek HD Audio Manager

Besides the above 3 main ways to fix the issue of missing Realtek Audio Manager, following are some additional ways that you can opt for.

1. Disable Microsoft UAA Bus Driver to Avoid HD Audio and Fix Driver Conflicts

Step 1: To disable the UAA bus driver, go to the device manager, and expand the system devices.

Step 2: Search and locate Microsoft UAA bus driver for high definition audio. Click right on it and click disable from the drop-down.

Step 4: Click on Realtek high definition audio driver .And hit the option with uninstall the driver.

Step 6: Click on the uninstall option from the drop-down menu.

Step 7: This process gets completed soon. After that, reinstall the Realtek HD audio driver.

2. Add Legacy hardware

Step 1: To add legacy hardware, go to the device manager. Then search for the Sound, video and game controllers.

Step 2: Click on the action tab.

Step 3: First, search. Then, click on add legacy hardware from the drop-down menu.
