Install Ubuntu On Windows 10 Using VirtualBox
Let’s see the steps of installing Ubuntu:
Step 1: Download Ubuntu ISO File
Go to Ubuntu.com and download the Ubuntu ISO image file for your system. At present, there are two LTS version available, Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS and Ubuntu 17.10.1. You can download whichever you prefer to use.
Here are the recommended system requirements:
- 2 GHz dual-core processor
- 2 GB RAM
- 25 GB of free hard drive space
- Either a DVD drive or a USB port for the installer media
- Internet access is helpful

Step 2: Download Oracle VM VirtualBox
Go to virtualbox.org and download Oracle VM VirtualBox. VirtualBox is a software which allows you to install multiple OS (Operating System)
Step 3: Install VM VirtualBox
Now you have to install the VirtualBox, the installation process is easy. Install the software as you install other software on your system.

Step 4: Creating a Virtual Machine
Open the Virtual Box, now you have to create Virtual Machine. In this virtual machine, we are going to install the Ubuntu OS. For that just follow this steps Click on New a pop up will appear where you have to name your operating system and select the type of OS and OS version that you had downloaded (32-bit or 64-bit).

After selecting all this just click “Next“. Then select the amount of memory (RAM for the virtual machine) Minimum 1024 MB (1 GB). Step 5: Installing Ubuntu on VirtualBox
Now our virtual machine is ready for the install. To install the Ubuntu on VirtualBox follow this step select the OS name in VirtualBox then click Settings > Storage > Controller ID > Empty > Optical Drive. Now click on optical drive drop down menu and select choose virtual optical disk file. Select the Ubuntu ISO image file from you downloaded location, then click OK.
Now click Start it will install Ubuntu on your VirtualBox. It will take some to install.

Step 6: Setting Up Ubuntu
When you click “Start” it starts to install Ubuntu. While it is been installing it will ask you to select your language and “Try Ubuntu” or “Install Ubuntu” just click install Ubuntu. After that it will open up an installation wizard where you have to select your keyword layout, do you want to updates the OS, your location and many more. After selecting all the required details just click install. It will set up your Ubuntu system approximately it can take 30 minutes of fully install.
