To install Windows 11 for free on your pc you have to meet some system requirements, and you have to have a genuine copy of Windows 10 installed on your system. However, if you are using a Windows Insider build then you have to downgrade your Windows to a stable build to get the Windows 11 free upgrade.

Microsoft has officially released Windows 11 on Oct. 5, 2021. If you are curious about this brand new operating system then you can upgrade to Windows 11 for free.

Windows 11 comes with a brand new UI design and some improved and new features. It brings a new visual design, Andriod app support, a new Microsoft store, better handles multitasking, improves gaming experience, and more when compared to Windows 10.

Minimum System Requirements For Windows 11

If you have a question, about whether we will receive a free upgrade to Windows 11 or not, then the answer is “YES“. But your PC needs to meet some minimum system requirements for windows 11. 

  • Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with 2 or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or System on a Chip (SoC).
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM.
  • Storage: 64 GB or larger storage device.
  • System firmware: UEFI, Secure Boot capable.
  • TPM: Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0.
  • Graphics card: DirectX 12 compatible graphics/WDDM 2.x.
  • Display: Greater than 9 inches with HD resolution (720p).
  • Internet connection: Microsoft account and internet connectivity are required for the setup of Windows 11.

If TPM is not enabled, try to enable TPM on your PC BIOS. Here check Intel and AMD-supported processors that can run Windows 11. You can also check if your PC can run Windows 11 or not.

How to Upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11 for Free

If you are using the insider preview build of Windows 11. You have to leave the insider program to upgrade to the stable version of Windows 11. Now, if you are using the stable version of Windows 10. Then you will not find any problems while upgrading to Windows 11.

Here are the steps you can follow to upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11 for free.

Step 1: Make sure you’re running a licensed version of Windows 10.

Step 2: Go to “Start Menu” and click on the gear icon to go to “Settings”. It will open the Windows Settings window.

Step 3: Here select the “Update & Security” option from the settings menu. Now you will get to windows update.

Step 4: Check if you received any notification from Microsoft regarding whether your PC can run Windows 11. After that, click on the “Check for Updates” button, and here you will find the “Upgrade to Windows 11 is ready and it’s free” option.

Step 5: Here click on “Download and Install” and the license agreement to upgrade for free. If you are not getting Windows 11 upgrade option, after meeting all the system requirements then you can use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant to upgrade your PC.
